How We Work
Prioritizing Our Impact
The Student Advancement Foundation raises both funds and community support for programs that fall under five areas:
These five impact areas address both the most vital needs of today's youth as well as the areas where school support has dwindled to a level that's unacceptably low, like enrichment trips so kids can experience places like Blandford Nature Center or the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
We work closely with Grand Rapids Public Schools to determine the most pressing needs for students and to find areas where the SAF might be able to supply tools and experiences students would otherwise not have. And to make sure unique or short-term needs are also considered, the SAF incorporates special initiatives, like the new Libraries & Laptops partnership with the Grand Rapids Public Library, so that our energy and resources are addressing current needs and priorities.
