MindShare - Brighter Together
What a night of shining stars! More than 650 people gathered at DeVos Place for MindShare 2012 and left no doubt about our community’s commitment to its students and their success. During the course of the evening, over thirty works of student art were auctioned, raising more than $5,000 for GRPS art programs. Superintendent Teresa Weatherall Neal shared a bit about herself and her vision for Grand Rapids Public Schools in an interview with SAF board member Amy Turner-Thole.
Certainly one of the night’s highlights, the inspiring performance by choir students from Coit, Alger and Ottawa Hills left guests without a dry eye (check out the video of their performance!). And Judge Sara Smolenski, with her inimitable wit and humor, roused the crowd to raise their stars in support of elementary fitness programs for district students.
We’re deeply grateful to our board, host committee, steering committee, our many volunteers and of course our generous sponsors and guests who helped make MindShare 2012 a spectacular, stellar event. We are honored to be a part of this community that indeed shines brighter together.
