MindShare wins an ADDY!
The SAF is proud and excited to announce the promotional materials for MindShare 2011 won an ADDY award from the American Advertising Federation West Michigan (AAF). Six graduates of Ferris State University’s Graphic Design Program were the creative force behind the “Believing Starts Here” theme used for MindShare 2011. Their vision and skill, together with Brian Kelly’s spectacular photography, helped build excitement and anticipation for the SAF’s signature event—an evening that inspired all those present. MindShare 2011 inspired generosity as well, raising more than $160,000 to support the students of Grand Rapids Public Schools.
The American Advertising Federation of West Michigan hosts the local ADDY competition each year. Winners of the local awards then move on to the District level, and from there advance to the national competition. According to AAF West Michigan’s website, “The ADDY® Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 60,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising.”
The FSU team won the award for "Mixed Media Campaign" in the Student Category and will be recognized at the 2012 AAF West Michigan ADDY Award ceremony on February 23rd at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Congratulations to the photographer Brian Kelly, students Dawn Brink, Calvin Carter, Jess Gordon, Emily Ross, Jessica Shirey, Michelle Theobald, and Professors Alison Popp and William Culpepper for your well-deserved win!
