$20,000 to Blandford Nature Center to support a classroom experience for every first and third grade classroom in Grand Rapids Public Schools during the 2014-2015 school year. Teachers can choose from a menu of learning programs offered at Blandford, including: “Animal Adaptions, “Predator-Prey Simulation” and much more. We expect over 2,000 students to benefit from this program.
“A deer can fly, and help Santa,”one first grader from Cesar Chavez Elementary offered in response to a discussion about Michigan wildlife during a November, 2014 trip to Blandford thanks to the Student Advancement Foundation.
$4,500 Bussing Grant to Grand Rapids Public Schools to pay for transportation expenses associated with the Blandford enrichment trips.
