Physical Wellness

At the SAF, we believe a healthy body and mind are fundamental to achieving academic success.

Recent studies have shown that too many of our youth don’t get enough daily physical activity or have adequate knowledge of or access to good nutrition.  In the spring of 2009, the SAF established Physical Wellness as its fifth impact area with the goal to provide tools and support to get children active and keep them healthy.  We’ve done this by purchasing new and updated equipment for physical education classes and most recently, by supporting basketball, track and cross country, and soccer programs for GRPS elementary students.
