Grand Rapids Public Schools 2nd graders got to experience something magical in the spring of 2011. After reading Charlotte's Web—the classic novel by E. B. White—in their classrooms, students saw the characters and scenery come alive onstage during the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre's performance. For many, this outing was their first time in a theater, and they couldn't have been more excited. Thanks to the SAF's dedicated group of arts supporters, we were able to make sure every 2nd grader at GRPS got the chance to experience the power and fascination of a live theater performance. The students wrote us thank you notes (with some really great illustrations), and we wanted to share their enthusiasm and gratitude with you!
